Canadian Tire stores will be donating $1 for every purchase to help give
    kids in financial need the chance to play organized sports and recreationTORONTO, May 28 /CNW/ - During one of the busiest weekends of the season,
Canadian Tire is inviting customers to stop in for fun activities,
refreshments and big savings in order to help give kids in financial need
across Canada the chance to play. During Canadian Tire Jumpstart Days on
Saturday, May 30th and Sunday, May 31st, 2009, Canadian Tire is donating $1 to
Canadian Tire Jumpstart® for every purchase made. Events are being held in
communities across the country with the goal of giving 20,000 kids in
financial need the chance to play organized sports and recreation this summer.
    "One in three kids is still not able to play a sport in Canada because of
financial barriers and Jumpstart Days is Canadian Tire's way of changing that
statistic," says Dan Thompson, president, Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities.
"When our community partners talk to us about the significance of Canadian
Tire Jumpstart, they tell us that the benefits go far beyond enabling kids in
financial need to participate in organized sport and recreation. It helps kids
to develop important life skills, self esteem and confidence...skills that
lasts a lifetime."
    In addition to the $1 donation for every purchase made this weekend at
all Canadian Tire stores in Canada, many stores in the towns and cities listed
below, are hosting family-fun sports activities and barbecues to raise
additional funds for Canadian Tire Jumpstart - all to help give 20,000 kids in
