CALGARY, Nov. 23, 2015 /CNW/ - Canadian Tire and Hayley Wickenheiser, four-time Olympic Gold Medallist and Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities Ambassador, will host the 6th annual Canadian Tire Wickenheiser Female World Hockey Festival, a four-day hockey tournament in Calgary. The tournament brings together over 2,000 players from almost 100 teams around the world to compete and connect while building positive hockey experiences across all levels.

Republic:

  • Hayley Wickenheiser available for
    interviews
  • Mexico and Czech Republic players
    available for interview before or after game
  • Atom (eight and nine year olds) team
    members from Mexico who are playing on
    a Camrose team will be available to interview
    prior to 2:30 p.m. game

Camrose and Mexico vs. Strathcona Atom
Stars:
Team Mexico had five girls aged eight
and nine who wanted to participate in Canadian
Tire WickFest with their older peers. There weren't
enough girls for a team, so Hockey Alberta worked
closely with the organizers to allow the girls to join
a team from Camrose who had a very small roster.
Coaches from Mexico and Camrose will be on the
bench. They are available to talk about how hockey
brings the world together.

Punch Like a Girl-Muay Thai and Kickboxing for
Dryland Training:

  • World Muay Thai Champion runs session
    for 80 girls

a young hockey player from Cobourg, ON, her
hockey team, the West Northumberland, will
participate in Canadian Tire WickFest.

Calgary Inferno vs. Brampton Thunder:
This is one of the most anticipated games
with many Canadian Tire WickFest
participants in attendance.
