Albertans name Mark's the province's 'Most Respected Company'

CALGARY, May 1, 2015 /CNW/ - Mark's, a member of the Canadian Tire Family of Companies, is proud to announce it has been named 'Alberta's Most Respected Company' by the province's consumers. The Alberta-based retailer ranked number one amongst 75 business peers across 13 sectors including airline, retail and energy.

This award was presented by Alberta Venture and Leger Research Group, a Canadian-owned research and marketing firm, who partnered to conduct the survey among 1,500 province residents, seeking their perception on the reputation of Alberta-led companies. Albertans gave Mark's top scores in consumer honesty and transparency, an offering of quality product and services and a value for money.

As Canada's number one men's casual and industrial apparel and footwear retailer, Mark's is thrilled to stand alongside some of Alberta's most impressive companies named in this study.

"We have worked hard as a brand to achieve this tremendous honour," says Rick White, Chief Operating Officer, Mark's. "This is an important step for us, particularly coming off 2014 where we redesigned stores across Canada and partnered with multiple new brands.  We want to thank Albertans for being part of our success."

Mark's opened its first store in Calgary, Alberta on August 14, 1977. The original store specialized in industrial accessories and footwear, and proved a perfect fit for the current local economy moving $20,000 worth of product on opening day. Now, in the company's 38th year, Mark's has continued its great success with over 380 stores across the country and a reputation as one of Canada's most trusted brands.

Recently named one of Canada's Best Managed Companies and Top Employers, The Canadian Tire Family of Companies is proud to continue their winning tradition with Mark's.
