Canadian Tire Family of Companies Congratulate Sport Chek-Employee on Cheer-Worthy Women's Ski Jump Performance at Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games
TORONTO, Feb. 11, 2014 /CNW/ - As premiere national partners of the Canadian Olympic Team, Sport Chek, Sports Experts and Canadian Tire congratulate Atsuko Tanaka on her 12th place finish in the inaugural Women's Ski Jumping competition. Tanaka, a Sport Chek employee, was ranked 28th in the world leading into the Games and second in Canada.
Tanaka works at the Sport Chek store at the Crowford Crossing Shopping Centre and trains at the Canada Olympic Park. She previously competed for Japan until the International Olympic Committee announced that Women's Ski Jumping would be introduced at Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Tanaka decided she wanted to represent Canada in the current World Cup circuit and at Sochi 2014, and accepted a position at Sport Chek because it offered her flexible work hours around her busy training schedule. Her colleagues at the store and at home office could not be more proud of her accomplishments.
Proud supporters of the Canadian Olympic Team, Canadian Tire, Sport Chek and Sports Experts are passionate about sports because it has been part of its DNA for 90 years. The Family of Companies has everything athletes of all skill and enthusiasm levels need to be involved in their favourite sport whether it's families or friends playing together or athletes pushing themselves to new accomplishments.
