National Fire Safety Awareness Day across Quebec

Develop the right routine to escape safe and well from a fire!

QUEBEC, Oct. 10, 2013 /CNW/ - Do you have an evacuation plan? Have you checked your alarms? To mark National Fire Safety Awareness Day on October 11, Canadian Tire, the ministère de la Sécurité publique and the fire safety services are in inviting everyone to join them in one of 96 Quebec branches to learn of the importance of developing the right routine to increase their chances of escaping safe and well from a fire.

Members of the community are invited to take advantage of this opportunity to talk with the local fire safety services and learn more about the importance of having a working smoke alarm at all times and of devising an effective evacuation plan.

"National Fire Safety Awareness Day is an example of Canadian Tire's commitment to raising awareness about fire safety in our communities.  We will continue to work closely with the ministère de la Sécurité publique and local fire safety services to provide our customers with quality fire safety and prevention products and educate them on proper use," indicated Jean Parisien, Vice-President of Canadian Tire for the Quebec region.

Various activities will be organized in-store during the weekend of October 11, 12 and 13. For more information, contact your local Canadian Tire dealer or look at the schedule of activities for Fire Prevention Week at www.securitepublique.gouv.qc.ca
