Canadian Tire Offers $15,000 and Volunteer Support to Rebuild Aylmer Playground Following Fire

TORONTO, Aug. 15, 2012 /CNW/ - Canadian Tire will engage the community and offer funds to help rebuild the Aydelu Park playground in Aylmer, Quebec, after it was damaged by fire Tuesday night.  The $15,000 contribution, which is made up of a $10,000 corporate donation and a $5,000 contribution from the local Canadian Tire store, will go towards building supplies and new playground equipment.

"We were saddened to read the news about the fire and look forward to helping put the 'play' back in playground for local families in Aylmer," said Stephane Lorrain, Dealer of the Canadian Tire store on Rue Principale.  "Canadian Tire has been part of Canadian communities for 90 years and takes pride being an active and good neighbour - providing support when communities are in need where and when we can."

Canadian Tire will work closely with Ville de Gatineau to ensure the playground gets rebuilt as soon as possible and has committed to providing volunteers from the Canadian Tire family to help get the playground rebuilt for the community.
