Umarex USA Voluntarily Recalls Units of Ruger Black Hawk Air Rifle Combo (1000 feet per second)

TORONTO, June 1, 2012 /CNW/ - U.S. manufacturer, Umarex USA, is voluntarily recalling the Ruger Black Hawk Air Rifle Combo (Product #075-5096) that may have been sold to Canadian Tire customers without the required licensing under the federal Firearms Act. The product, a recreational pellet air rifle with a 1000 feet per second (fps) velocity, was shipped in error for sale at various Canadian Tire stores.

The recalled product can be identified by a UPC code of 723364440106 or packaging labelled '1000fps'. Customers who no longer have the original packaging can verify the product by examining the serial number located on the barrel; the serial number on the recalled product does not end with 'C'.

The Ruger Black Hawk Air Rifle Combo, with the UPC number 723364440113 with a 495fps velocity is not affected by this recall.

Customers with the recalled product are asked to immediately discontinue use and contact Canadian Tire Customer Relations at 1-800-387-8803 (English) or 1-800-565-3356 (French) to verify if their product is affected by this recall.
