Canadian Tire Logo will be on all GTHL Sweaters.
TORONTO, Oct. 14 /CNW/ - The Greater Toronto Hockey League (GTHL) and Canadian Tire Corporation Limited announced today that they have signed a 2-year agreement making Canadian Tire one of the League's Premier Sponsors.
As part of the deal, 530 teams and a total of 10,000 GTHL players will proudly sport Canadian Tire's iconic triangle and the NHL®'s logo. Having recently signed a five-year partnership with the NHL® and launched the new Canadian Tire Hockey School, the partnership with the GTHL is an opportunity for Canadian Tire to support the sport in the Toronto region. This is the first time in the League's history that a sponsor's logo will be featured on every sweater. "We are very excited about our new partnership with Canadian Tire. It is a brand that has been part of Canadian hockey for generations and we're proud to be associated with it," said GTHL President John Gardner.
"For nearly 90 years, Canadian Tire has equipped millions of hockey players with their first skates, stick, helmet and pads," said Duncan Fulton, vice-president, corporate affairs for Canadian Tire. "We're happy to continue this tradition and to partner with the GTHL."
Canadian Tire Stores will also be donating $20,000 per year to help GTHL children who are in financial need. "Canadian Tire's passion for helping kids in need is refreshing and admirable," said Gardner. "We will continue to look for new opportunities with Canadian Tire Jumpstart to help as many kids as we can."
